Adjusting Traffic Speed
Learn how to control the rate at which traffic is delivered to your project using credits or plan percentages.
Adjusting Traffic Speed
Traffic Creator allows you to control the speed at which traffic is delivered to your website. This guide explains how to adjust traffic speed settings to meet your specific needs.
Important: Traffic speed settings affect how quickly your credits are consumed. Higher speeds deliver traffic faster but use credits more quickly.
Understanding Traffic Speed
Traffic speed refers to the rate at which visitors are sent to your website. It's measured in:
- Pageviews per hour: The number of page visits delivered each hour
- Pageviews per day: The total number of page visits delivered in a 24-hour period
- Credits per day: The number of credits consumed daily based on your speed settings
Traffic Creator offers several speed options to accommodate different needs:
Speed Setting | Approximate Delivery Rate | Best For |
---|---|---|
Low | 100-300 pageviews/hour | Long-term campaigns, budget conservation |
Medium | 300-800 pageviews/hour | Balanced approach, most websites |
High | 800-2000 pageviews/hour | Quick results, high-traffic websites |
Turbo | 2000+ pageviews/hour | Urgent campaigns, large websites |
Pro Tip: For most websites, the Medium speed setting provides the best balance between traffic delivery and natural-looking visitor patterns.

Best Practices for Traffic Speed
Follow these recommendations to optimize your traffic speed settings:
- Match your website's capacity: Higher traffic speeds require more server resources. Ensure your hosting can handle the volume.
- Consider your analytics goals: If you're trying to improve metrics like average session duration, a lower speed with more engaged visitors may be better.
- Align with your marketing strategy: If you're launching a new product or campaign, higher speeds can generate immediate interest.
- Budget management: Lower speeds conserve credits and extend your campaign duration.
- Use time-based adjustments: Professional and Expert plans allow you to set different speeds for different times of day to match natural traffic patterns.
Pro Tip: Start with a Medium speed setting and monitor your website's performance. If your server handles it well, you can gradually increase to higher speeds.
Troubleshooting Traffic Speed Issues
If you encounter problems with your traffic speed settings, try these solutions:
- Check if your project is paused or scheduled for a future start date
- Verify that you have sufficient credits in your account
- Ensure your website is accessible and loading properly
- Check for any traffic filters that might be limiting delivery
- Allow up to 30 minutes for speed changes to take effect
- Lower your traffic speed setting to conserve credits
- Check if you have multiple active projects consuming credits
- Review your project settings for any advanced features that might increase credit usage
- Set a daily credit limit in your project settings
- Consider upgrading to a plan with better credit efficiency
- Reduce your traffic speed to a level your server can handle
- Contact your hosting provider about upgrading your server resources
- Implement caching solutions to improve website performance
- Use a content delivery network (CDN) to distribute traffic load
- Consider using the "Gradual Ramp-Up" feature (Expert plan) to slowly increase traffic
